Competition, content creation and AKI: Aerinh explains how Street Fighter 6 brought her into the FGC, from Belgian events to UFA.
Street Fighter since childhood
Aerinh, whose first name is Soraya, has played Street Fighter since she was three. Today she combines competition, streaming and fighting game content creation. The series has been with her since childhood, but Street Fighter 6 is where she truly started becoming part of the FGC.
AKI all the way
In Street Fighter 6, there is no hesitation about her pick: AKI. As long as the character does not hold back her progress, Aerinh wants to stay loyal to her main. Recent buffs opened new combo routes and added an interesting oki option, but the meta is still shifting because several difficult match-ups were buffed too.
At her level, she does not see AKI as the thing limiting her. Above all, she enjoys the character. A second pick is still in the back of her mind to cover some difficult match-ups and gain access to tools AKI does not have.
Her Belgian FGC touchpoints
Aerinh regularly attends Brussels Challenge. When talking about the Belgian scene, she mentions Takamura, Linko and GameIn among the players who are part of her community touchpoints.
At UFA 2026, she achieved her best result so far with a 2-2 finish. After losing to DCQ, she still felt a match was within reach. She then won two matches in the loser run before falling to Yasmine.
UFA feels like home
Beyond the bracket, UFA is her favourite event. On Friday, as soon as she arrives, Aerinh says she feels “at home”. Even an event such as EVO Nice would struggle, in her view, to take that place.
The event also matters for its collective moments. She happily looks back on the Street Fighter Sisters: she won a match there, and her team “Pain au chocolat” took the win.
